DCW Mantis BS2 Mini wall led lamp

Mantis BS2 Mini is the projecting wall lamp in the small size version and with integrated LED, from the Mantis collection by Bernard Schottlander for DCW. Structure in steel and aluminum, very thin and functional thanks to the system with counterweight and wall block by means of a chain, which is fixed in a hook by positioning the lamp in the way you want. The graceful and intriguing praying mantis becomes a luminous, historical object, ready to illuminate different spaces: small day or night corners, armchairs and sofas and reading areas, on desks and coffee tables, on dining tables and on bedside tables, in residential and hospitality areas . It was 1951 when the designer created this large collection of lamps, also inspired by the dynamism of Alexander Calder's works of art. The details of Mantis immediately catch the eye: the chain, the long-limbed wall fixings, the switch on the cable, the elongated and rounded diffuser that perfectly recalls the head of a dancing mantis. Each part of the lamp is made with ductile and at the same time resistant material to facilitate rotation and 180° horizontal and vertical movement. Acrobat in mid-air Mantis expands in places, refined and timeless, filling the walls and giving the historical and consciously showy touch to the indoor areas. Made with a rotational mold, the German designer takes his cue and aims at the symmetrical and asymmetrical in opposition to each other, through the helical movement. A design product studied in every detail with strong inspirations.
