Description

This 3D-printed clay vase is the result of a project inspired by the famous “La Balena” nursery school in Guastalla, a building with soft, dynamic lines. The shape of the vase echoes the continuous curves of the original structure, obtained by translating and rotating its cross-section vertically to recreate its architectural movement. It is made using 3D clay printing technology with the LDM (Liquid Deposition Modeling) process, an experimental technique that builds volume layer by layer using dense and fluid materials. Once solidified and fired, the object is finished with a matte black crystalline surface that gives depth to the color, protects the material, and makes it suitable for contact with food. The result is a contemporary, textured, and sculptural decorative object that combines formal research, technological innovation, and ceramic tradition.
