Luminator by Codiceicona is a floor lamp of extraordinary historical and stylistic significance, designed by architect and designer Luciano Baldessari in 1929 and first presented at the Barcelona Expo on the Italian fabrics stand. Its unmistakable silhouette draws inspiration from the figure of a dancer, evolving through the abstraction of a hybrid mannequin into a form that achieves a pure synthesis of art and function. The structure is crafted in steel and features a chrome-plated extruded aluminium cylinder mounted on ball bearings that allow rotation, a white inverted cone, and a rotating arm available in red or black — elements that together define an object as architectural as it is emotional.
Even today, Luminator is regarded as an indispensable presence in contemporary interiors, a symbol of a luminous energy that has stood the test of time. Its commanding proportions — with a height of 1900 mm and a depth of 400 mm — make it an ideal sculptural furnishing element for spacious, high-impact environments. It is perfectly suited to enhance a living room or a statement entrance hall, where its dynamic profile becomes the centrepiece of the space. The lamp is compatible with LED light sources and accepts an input voltage of 100-240 V, making it suitable for use across Europe, Australia, the USA, the UK and Japan. The bulb is not included; recommended configurations are E27 with a maximum of 20W LED or E14 with six sources of up to 11W LED each. The lamp is not dimmable. Baldessari sought to convey emotion through light: nearly a century later, Luminator continues to do so with the same timeless elegance.
