Astep Model 2042 circular ceiling lamp

Astep Model 2042 is a circular ceiling lamp designed by the visionary Gino Sarfatti, part of the iconic Le Sfere collection, originally conceived in 1963 and reissued by Astep in 2019. The design draws inspiration from celestial bodies and moonlight, translated into a timeless aesthetic that blends formal precision with visual poetry. A steel structure holds rings that embrace blown opal glass spheres, each adjustable via a cut in the ring itself, allowing the diffuser to be directed upwards or downwards to achieve a combined direct and indirect light emission. The lamp is available in two versions: Model 2042/3, with three spheres, and Model 2042/6, with six spheres, offered in Black or Champagne finishes, with overall dimensions of 650x290 mm and a sphere diameter of 20 mm.

Model 2042 stands out for its ability to illuminate any residential interior with refined elegance, adapting naturally to the living room, the bedroom or the kitchen, as well as to entrances and hallways. The lamp is equipped with an LED E27 light source with a maximum power of 60 W per sphere, with LED bulbs included in the package. A colour temperature of 2700 K delivers warm, enveloping light that enhances the translucency of the blown glass spheres and creates an intimate, sophisticated atmosphere. Total luminous flux reaches 2418 lm in the three-sphere version and 4836 lm in the six-sphere version. The compatible voltage ranges from 100 to 240 V, supporting EU, AUD, USA, UK and JAP electrical systems, while the IP20 protection rating confirms its suitability exclusively for indoor use. The lamp is not dimmable and carries an energy efficiency class of F.
