Description

Chimera, designed in 1966 and then produced in 1969, is the result of research conducted by Magistretti on structures resistant by shape. It represents a project whose configuration depends on the shape resistance of the material: a serpentine configuration is given to an opalescent methacrylate sheet, through hot bending, which makes it self-supporting. Therefore the serpentine folding of an opaline methacrylate sheet acts both as the structure of the lamp and as a diffuser, resting on a painted metal base. Today's version, from 2024, has an integrated dimmer that can be controlled via the Artemide APP.
