Verpan Wire Table 40

Verpan Wire Table 40 is an iconic table lamp designed by Verner Panton in 1972 and produced by VERPAN. Its construction principle is truly extraordinary: a precise cylindrical structure of chrome-plated steel wire, crafted without welding, is paired with a plastic hemisphere that shields the light source, which sits at the centre of a chrome-plated metal reflector directing light toward the hemisphere. The outcome is a lamp that combines geometric precision with remarkable elegance, revealing its true luminous nature only when switched on.

The Wire Table Ø40 is the large-format table version, with a diameter of 400 mm and a total height of 540 mm. When lit, the plastic hemisphere displays a subtle translucency that diffuses a completely glare-free, soft and enveloping light, creating a high degree of visual comfort in any space. The hemisphere is removable for easy bulb replacement. The lamp features a 2200 mm transparent power cord with an on/off switch integrated directly on the cable, and is compatible with LED sources up to 60W via an E26-E27 lampholder, with universal input voltage of 100-240V. The bulb is not included.
