Verpan VP Globe 28 suspension lamp

The Verpan VP Globe 28 suspension lamp is a design icon created by Verner Panton in 1969, one of the most visionary interpreters of the space age. Its outer sphere in crystal-clear acrylic encloses five inner reflectors suspended from steel chains, with splashes of colour that accentuate the sculptural character of the piece. The result is a lamp capable of commanding attention and visually uniting any space, whether hung individually or grouped in multiples.

Panton's ambition was to create an object that transcended pure lighting function to become an architectural statement in its own right. The VP Globe Ø28 is an ideal choice above a dining table, in a hallway, or as a focal point in the living room, where its diffused light creates a warm and enveloping atmosphere. The 28 cm diameter version is the most compact in the entire collection and is available in the Chrome/Red/Blue finish.

From a technical standpoint, the VP Globe 28 features a G9 lampholder compatible with LED sources up to a maximum of 60W, delivering diffused light emission for atmospheric illumination. The fabric suspension cord is adjustable up to 400 cm, offering great flexibility during installation. The metal canopy is included, while the light bulb is not supplied. The lamp carries an IP20 rating for indoor use only and supports a universal input voltage range of 100–240V, making it compatible with the main international electrical standards including EU, USA, UK, Australia and Japan. The overall weight is 3 kg.
