&Tradition Ita OS5 and OS6 bench

&Tradition welcomes the debut collection Ita, by OEO Studio, which crosses the boundary between Scandinavian and Japanese design philosophies. Inheriting its name from the Japanese word for a plank of wood, Ita is a collection that takes its cue from the practice of miyadaiku carpentry, the centuries-old craft that, from furniture to temples, uses integral cuts to join wooden elements without the need for screws or glue. To make Ita even more interesting, some subtleties such as rounded edges have been included as well as deep attention to its assembly.

The Ita bench is available in two sizes. OS5 is the smaller one, with a length of 170 cm, which can comfortably accommodate up to three people, while OS6 can accommodate up to four people thanks to its length of 230 cm. Ita is made from MDF, oak and solid oak. The MDF sheets are cut with a CNC machine before being covered with an oak veneer and solid oak edges. The components are then sanded and protected with a water-based varnish. It is suitable for use primarily indoors, but can also be used outdoors, taking care, however, to store them indoors and dry when not in use. Complete with non-slip plastic gliders.
