&Tradition Formakami JH18 table lamp

East meets West in Jaime Hayòn's playful retouching of a traditional Asian lantern in contemporary expression. From centuries ago, paper lanterns appeared in Asia among the privileged and the poor where different colors, shapes and sizes had different meanings. In this case Hayòn gave up cultural formalities and created a series of lamps all in white color, handmade with rice paper that combines different sizes and shapes.

The Formakami HJ18 table lamp has a voluminous handmade ivory white rice paper lampshade. One of the two E27 sockets is located in the base of the lamp, while the other is halfway between the base and the diffuser. Two rings of solid oak wood painted in black, provide a visual division of the two parts. A switch with dimmer is located on the 2 meter long power line.
