Saliscendi is the iconic adjustable suspension lamp designed by Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1957 for the Council Chamber of the Milan Chamber of Commerce. Originally conceived to illuminate both the meeting table and the surrounding room, this Stilnovo suspension lamp perfectly embodies the Castiglioni brothers' design philosophy, combining technical innovation, functionality and visual elegance. The distinctive pulley system allows the light source and reflective disc to move in opposite directions, continuously adjusting the balance between direct and indirect lighting. Lowering the lamp concentrates illumination on the surface below, while raising it increases ambient lighting through the reflective disc positioned above the source. This ingenious mechanism makes Saliscendi a dynamic and versatile suspension, capable of fine-tuning light distribution at any moment. The integrated LED source delivers a colour temperature of 2700 K with warm, enveloping light, a colour rendering index of CRI90 for accurate colour reproduction, and full intensity control thanks to DALI / Push Dim dimming. With a protection rating of IP20 and an input voltage of 220-240 V, the lamp is perfectly suited above dining tables, conference tables and workspaces in a living room or office.
