Stilnovo Minitopo Historical LED Table Lamp

Stilnovo Minitopo is an iconic LED table lamp designed by Joe Colombo in 1970 and produced by Stilnovo. A true milestone of Italian design, it draws clear inspiration from the automotive world: the slits on the cap recall the air intakes of 1960s sports cars, originally conceived to dissipate heat and prevent direct glare. The shape of the shade, which mirrors the silhouette of the E27 bulb housed inside, gives the lamp its distinctive rounded profile — reminiscent of a little mouse, hence the ironic and affectionate name. The structure is crafted in painted metal with a chromed metal support stem, a white-painted inner cap and a black heat-insulating handle that allows the cap to be freely adjusted without burning one's fingers.

When Joe Colombo completed the original Topo, he immediately envisioned a smaller, domestic version: the Minitopo was born, retaining the characteristic diffuser silhouette while replacing the articulated arm with a curved tubular element, developed into a circular base and an arched stem that also serves as a convenient handle for repositioning the lamp. Far more than a functional lighting object, the Minitopo is still part of the Permanent Collection of the MoMA in New York, under the name "Topolino". The 7 W LED light source, with a colour temperature of 3000 K warm white and a CRI greater than 80, delivers soft, diffused and high-quality light, with the bulb included.
