Stilnovo Minitopo Historical LED Table Lamp

Minitopo, designed by Joe Colombo in 1970, is a fascinating object of automotive inspiration: the slits on the shell are reminiscent of the air intakes of 1960s sports cars, used in the lamp to dissipate heat while avoiding direct glare, while the shape of the lampshade corresponds to the classic E27 bulb housed inside. The resulting shape is reminiscent of a mouse, hence the ironic name. The light is freely adjustable via a small black handle on top of the reflector, which allows you to orient the lamp without burning your fingers.

Once the very first Topo has been created, Joe Colombo immediately thinks of making a small series for the home: this is how the Minitopo is born, which keeps the diffuser with its characteristic shape and instead of the articulated arm has a single support, a curved tubular element that develops into a circular base and an arched stem, to be used as a handle to move the lamp with ease. Minitopo is still part of the Permanent Collection of the MoMA in New York, with the name "Topolino".
