Stilnovo Bascula led suspension lamp

Stilnovo Bascula is a LED suspension lamp designed by Shigeaki Asahara in 1985, now presented by Stilnovo in an updated version featuring integrated LED technology. The design is inspired by the Enterprise starship from the Star Trek television series: its defining element is an ultra-thin aluminium disc, elegant in profile and seemingly floating in mid-air, balanced by a conical counterweight positioned at the bottom. This mechanism allows the lamp to be freely oriented horizontally or at an angle, directing the diffused light emission as desired with effortless precision.

Bascula stands out for its ability to combine timeless, refined aesthetics with high-level lighting performance, making it an ideal choice for residential and hospitality settings alike — from the living room to the bedroom and prestigious representative spaces. The integrated LED source of 26 W delivers a luminous output between 3547 and 3795 lumens, with a colour rendering index of CRI90 for faithful, enveloping and superior-quality light. The colour temperature can be selected between 2700K for a warm, intimate atmosphere and 3000K for a brighter, more contemporary feel. The DALI & Push dimming system allows precise control of light intensity, fully compatible with advanced home automation installations. The integrated driver operates over a universal voltage range of 100-240 V, with a protection rating of IP20 for indoor use. The disc measures Ø 600 mm in diameter, the lamp height is 167 mm and the maximum installation height reaches 2400 mm; the included ceiling rose measures Ø 112x46 mm.
