Safari, put into production by Poltronova in 1968, is a sofa made with fiberglass using an experimental fiberglass technique. The seat and backrest upholstery features an animal-print fabric with leopard spot pattern, inspired by Pop Art iconography.

The lightweight fiberglass structure — 64 × 85 × 85 cm — merges constructive innovation and aesthetic boldness. The same leopard motif repeats on the expanded polyurethane carpet placed between seats, creating decorative continuity that defies the dogma of form following function. Safari is part of the permanent collection of museum institutions including the Centre Pompidou and the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal.
