Quasar by Petite Friture is a rechargeable portable lamp for outdoor and indoor use, designed by Samy Rio and inspired by the organic form of bamboo. Its name references astronomy — Quasar is the contraction of QUASi-stellAR, an extremely bright galactic nucleus — and reflects an eccentric yet sustainable design built on controlled lines that convey a sense of purity and elegance. The structure combines a base in 25% recycled ABS, impact resistant, with a top lid in 20% recycled anodized aluminum, corrosion resistant, completed by a UV-resistant polyester cord that makes it easy to carry or hang from any support.

With its IP54 certification, Quasar is protected from dust and water jets, making it equally suited to outdoor settings — terraces, poolside areas, pergolas — and indoor spaces such as the living room or bedroom. The cord also allows it to be hung from a branch, hook or any other fixture, multiplying its placement options. Versatile and refined, it integrates effortlessly into any living or convivial setting.

The light source is an integrated 2W LED at 5V DC with a luminous flux of 200 lm. The lamp features an advanced dimmer system combining colour temperature adjustment — 2200K, 3000K and 4000K, from warm white to cool white — with three intensity levels (25%, 50%, 100%), for a total of nine different light combinations. Battery life varies depending on intensity: up to 24 hours at 25%, 12 hours at 50%, and 6 hours at full power. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes via the included USB-C cable, compatible with EU, AUS, USA, UK and JAP plugs.
