In 1963, Marco Zanuso designed the model 275 table lamp for Oluce, with a large rotatable white perspex diffuser, fixed on a lacquered metal base. Later renamed Zanuso, the 275 was born as a desk lamp. Its purpose, however, does not want to be that of a desk lamp, but rather that of illuminating a table positioned in an environment that is not necessarily an office. Iconic in form, it is in fact used not only on desks, but in general on any support surface, with the main function of illuminating a portion of the environment.
