Oluce Sonora 490 Historical Suspension Lamp

Oluce Sonora 490 is a historical suspension lamp designed by Vico Magistretti in 1976, now regarded as one of the most iconic pieces of twentieth-century Italian design. Its form is that of a pure geometric sphere crafted in blown PMMA, a material that lends the lamp extraordinary visual lightness while delivering a diffused and direct light emission in equal measure. With a diameter of 90 cm and a height of 45 cm, the Sonora 490 is the most commanding version in the family, conceived to become the visual and luminous centrepiece of any generous interior.

The Sonora 490 brings timeless elegance to large, architecturally generous spaces and is perfectly suited to the living room, where its spherical silhouette commands immediate attention. Magistretti's design distils his deepest creative philosophy: geometry as simplification, form as an inspiring principle that never ages. The lamp accepts LED sources up to 150W with an E26-E27 lampholder, compatible with voltages from 100 to 240V for worldwide use. The bulb is not included. The IP20 protection rating designates it for indoor installations.
