Oluce Fresnel is a wall and ceiling lamp for indoor and outdoor use, designed by Joe Colombo in 1966 and manufactured by Oluce. Its deliberately anonymous vintage aesthetic makes it a timeless object: the painted aluminium body houses a Fresnel lens diffuser that transforms the light source into a soft, deep and evenly diffused emission. The compact structure — 120 mm depth and 100 mm diameter — makes installation straightforward on both walls and ceilings.
With its IP44 rating, Fresnel is suitable for damp environments and outdoor settings, as well as any interior space where discreet and refined lighting is desired, such as the living room or the bedroom. It is available in four finishes — glossy white, glossy black, grey and chrome — with the important note that the chrome version is for indoor use only. The lamp is offered in two configurations: an integrated LED version at 4.5 W, with a colour temperature of 2700 K warm white, a luminous flux of 600 lm and a bulb included; or a version with an E14 socket, compatible with LED or halogen bulbs up to 40 W (bulb not included). A colour rendering index greater than CRI 80 ensures faithful colour reproduction, while compatibility with EU, AUD, USA, UK and JAP voltages makes it suitable for international use. A design that has made simplicity and practicality true synonyms of timeless elegance.
