Oluce Coupé arc floor lamp

The Oluce Coupé 3320/R is an arc floor lamp designed by Joe Colombo in 1967, one of the most iconic pieces in twentieth-century Italian design. Originally conceived as a variation of the same designer's Spider family — sharing its base and stem — the Coupé stands out for the simple yet ingenious mechanism connecting the stem to the head: the dome can be directed upwards, downwards and sideways, adapting the light beam to any need. The structure is crafted in steel with a chrome finish, with a lacquered aluminium reflector, and is available in black and white. The chrome arc is swivelling and height-adjustable, with an overall reach of between 190 and 240 cm and a width of 160 cm.

The Coupé is an enduringly relevant design object, capable of enhancing characterful residential spaces with precise, directable light. It is perfectly suited to the living room or the bedroom, where it complements sofas, armchairs and reading corners with elegance. The E26-E27 lampholder is compatible with LED or halogen sources up to 100 W, with a universal input voltage of 100-240 V suitable for international markets. A switch is included. In 1968 the Coupé received the International Design Award from the American Institute of Interior Designers in Chicago, and it is part of the permanent collections of the MoMA in New York and the Neue Sammlung Museum in Munich — testament to its lasting cultural significance. Available in two dome variants — semi-cylindrical or semi-spherical — the Coupé has been extended over the decades into table, floor and wall lamp models, becoming one of Oluce's most celebrated collections.
