The Lampe de Marseille by Nemo is an iconic lamp designed by Le Corbusier, whose name and design are inspired by the Unité d'Habitation in Marseille, the monumental building that embodies the spirit of brutalism. Constructed between 1949 and 1952, the structure expresses the functional and aesthetic principles of the modern movement, using rough concrete and strong geometric shapes.
The lamp is characterised by a swivelling arm and a double conical diffuser that allows light to be directed both upwards and downwards, ensuring versatile illumination. This sober and functional design makes the Lampe de Marseille Mini a popular choice for contemporary settings, where the essentiality of the shapes meets the high quality of the materials. The mini version is a compact variant that preserves the original spirit of the design.
