Memphis Terminus floor lamp

Memphis Terminus is an iconic floor lamp designed by Martine Bedin for Memphis Milano, in production since 1981 and one of the most recognisable symbols of postmodern design. The structure is crafted in painted metal: a tall steel tube, standing 2000 mm high, ends in a hemispherical lampshade, while the rectangular sheet steel base rests on four tubes each terminating in a small dome — enigmatically and anthropomorphically evoking the silhouette of a fantastical creature.

The Memphis Terminus floor lamp is designed for spaces that celebrate authorial design and formal experimentation. Its sculptural presence makes it the natural centrepiece of a living room or any environment dedicated to design collecting and contemporary art. Technically, it is fitted with a 5 W LED G9 light source at a colour temperature of 4000 K (neutral white), bulb included, and operates on a universal voltage of 100-240 V. The lamp is not dimmable, ensuring a steady and consistent light output in keeping with the bold character of the original design.
