Memphis Splendid floor lamp

Memphis Splendid is a floor lamp designed by Martine Bedin for Memphis Milano in 1981, now back in production as an authentic testament to the boldest spirit of postmodern design. The painted metal structure is built around essential, meaning-laden forms: an enamelled hemispherical base — almost animated in its roundness — from which a slender stem rises, ending in two symmetrical light sources. The contrast between the solidity of the base and the lightness of the stem gives the whole piece a sculptural and almost narrative quality.

Splendid's design plays with a deliberately evocative colour palette — blue and yellow-gold — shades that recall preciousness, sacredness and deep cultural traditions, while reflecting the tension so typical of Memphis between breaking conventions and ironically reinterpreting them. An object that does not merely illuminate, but tells a story, becoming a visual and cultural symbol capable of powerfully defining any space. The lamp finds its natural place in a living room or in any residential setting where iconic design takes centre stage. With a total height of 1860 mm and a base diameter of 450 mm, it commands a strong scenic presence. The E26-E27 lampholder is compatible with the included 14 W, 3000 K bulb (warm white light), creating a warm and enveloping atmosphere. The universal voltage of 100-240 V, compatible with EU, AUD, USA, UK and JAP standards, ensures international versatility. The IP20 protection rating makes it suitable for indoor use.
