Memphis Mimosa table

Mimosa by Memphis Milano is a low table designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1984, distinguished by its geometric composition and delicate pastel colours. Its wooden structure, covered with decorative laminate, is paired with a tempered glass top, combining a practical surface with a playful, distinctive aesthetic.

In the living room, Mimosa can be placed beside a sofa or armchair, introducing colour and a sculptural presence. Measuring 42 × 42 × 42 cm in width, depth and height, it forms a compact volume with a strong visual identity.

Coloured rectangular blocks intersect perpendicularly to create a composition reminiscent of a toy cube. The precision of its geometry contrasts with the softness of its pastel shades, evoking childhood and dreams. This balance between elementary shapes and colour expresses Sottsass's radical design language, turning a functional furnishing into an object that encourages imagination.

The tempered glass top completes the laminate-covered structure while allowing its distinctive arrangement of volumes to remain visible. Mimosa brings together contrasting materials, regular proportions and a delicate colour palette in a table with an original character.
