Memphis Ivory side table

Ivory by Memphis Milano is a tall side table designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1985, combining a practical tabletop with the expressive character of radical design. Made of wood covered with decorative laminate and wood veneer, it features a tempered glass top that completes a composition defined by colours, shapes and decorative patterns.

In the living room, Ivory introduces a sculptural presence through the distinctive visual language of Memphis. Its slender proportions and contrasting materials create a striking furnishing piece, with a circular tabletop integrated into the overall composition.

Its name and form evoke the ivory tower, traditionally associated with an ideal of purity. Sottsass reinterprets this reference with irony, transforming it into an object rich in contrasting colours and patterns: a design that challenges conventional furnishing aesthetics through a free and radical visual language.

The Ivory side table measures 48 cm in diameter and 100 cm in height. Decorative laminate and wood veneer, combined with the tempered glass top, define the material identity of this furnishing piece by Ettore Sottsass.
