Memphis Imperial storage unit

Memphis Imperial is a secretaire in open-pore lacquered solid wood designed by Shiro Kuramata for Memphis Milano in 1981. Far more than a simple storage unit, Imperial is a poetic gesture transformed into furniture: its slender legs lift it off the ground, lending it an almost unreal elegance, while its essential form and clean visual language make it a piece that captures the eye and stimulates the imagination. Kuramata believed that enchantment itself is a function, and Imperial stands as living proof.

Available in three monochromatic finishes — black, silver and plum — each tells its own story: from the graphic rigour of black, to the metallic sheen of silver, to the deep sophistication of plum.
