Memphis Diva mirror

Diva by Memphis Milano is not just a mirror: it is a manifesto of presence. Designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1984, this object reflects more than the face of the observer: it reflects a radical aesthetic, a design thinking that defies function to embrace expression. The geometric structure-a rectangular base, two circular elements at the top, and a central “X” defined by the color contrast of the laminates-creates a visual impact that invites one to stop, to look, to participate. The use of color and primary forms, a hallmark of Sottsass's language, makes Diva an icon of postmodern design, where irony and theatricality become an integral part of the object. Made with a wooden base covered in wood essence and decorative laminate, with lacquered elements, Diva is a work that demands attention, almost vainly, and at the same time returns it amplified, transforming the daily gesture of reflecting into a scenic act.
