Description

Rucola by Memphis is a ceramic serving dish designed by Ettore Sottsass that transforms the essential into an intriguing visual experience. Completely white, it is decorated with a black graphic motif composed of small dot-like spots that seem to be randomly arranged on the surface. The contrast between the immaculate background and the minimalist decoration creates an effect of lightness and spontaneity. The name ‘Rucola’ adds a touch of irony, evoking a vegetable imagery that is not reflected in the visual details of the plate. It is an object that invites mental play, suggesting free interpretations and challenging the conventions between form and meaning.
