Luceplan Stochastic 72 Spheres Modular Suspension Lamp White

Luceplan Stochastic is a modular suspension lamp designed by Daniel Rybakken in 2016, combining illumination and aesthetic research into a striking sculptural installation. The structure is composed of 72 opal white glass spheres suspended at varying heights by steel rods of different lengths, which can be freely hooked onto the supporting frame according to one's own creativity. This distinctive feature gives the lamp its name: Stochastic, a mathematical term denoting a random process — each configuration produces a unique cluster of light, transforming the lamp into an ever-changing sculptural composition. The support elements are deliberately understated, lending the product a scenographic and poetic character that goes far beyond mere function.

Thanks to its modular nature and exceptional visual quality, Luceplan Stochastic is perfectly suited to residential and representative spaces where a single lighting element can become the defining feature of the entire room. It brings effortless elegance to the living room, but also excels in contract settings such as hotel lobbies, restaurants and showrooms. The integrated 18 W LED light source, placed at the centre of the composition, is concealed from direct view: light is reflected and refracted by the glass spheres, becoming a decorative element in its own right. With a colour rendering index of CRI90 and a colour temperature of 3000 K (warm white), the luminous quality is excellent for enhancing materials and interiors. The system is dimmable via trailing edge/leading edge phase cut (IGBT-TRIAC), allowing precise control of light intensity. The driver is housed within the canopy, which measures Ø18×4 cm, while cable length is adjustable from a minimum of 120 cm to a maximum of 320 cm, accommodating a range of ceiling heights. Each sphere has a diameter of Ø8.7 cm and the overall width of the composition is approximately 50 cm. The lamp is rated IP20 for indoor use, with a universal input voltage of 100–240 V compatible with the main international standards (EU, USA, UK, AUS, JAP). A version with a 2700 K light temperature is also available on request.
