Luceplan Malamata 22 black suspension lamp

Luceplan Malamata 22 is a metal pendant lamp with a contemporary design, created by the studio Shulab for the Italian brand Luceplan. Its name comes from Hebrew, meaning up and down: a direct reference to the mechanism that defines it. The Ø 22 cm opal spherical diffuser provides a soft, diffused light emission, while the black finish lends the piece a bold and refined character. The light source is an LED with an E14 base (maximum diameter Ø 40 mm), not included.

The defining feature of the Malamata 22 is its ingenious height-adjustment system: a counterweight activated by a button releases a spring that allows the lamp to slide along its shaft, enabling it to be positioned parallel or at an angle, with effortless precision. With a maximum cable length of 302 cm, a lamp height of 86 cm, and a ceiling rose measuring 13×4 cm, it suits a wide range of ceiling heights. It operates on a universal voltage of 100–240 V, carries an IP20 protection rating, and is classified as Insulation Class II. It is not dimmable. This suspension lamp integrates beautifully into a design-led living room, and suits equally well a kitchen or a bedroom. The Malamata is also available in a larger diffuser version and in a brass finish.
