Louis Poulsen PH Artichoke D480

Louis Poulsen PH Artichoke D480 is a pendant lamp by Louis Poulsen, originally designed by Poul Henningsen in 1958 for the Langelinie Pavilion in Copenhagen. The design draws on the PH Septima of 1927-31, from which Henningsen derived its conceptual foundation. The result is an icon of Scandinavian design that, decades later, retains its full aesthetic and functional power. The structure is crafted in aluminium with laser-cut steel leaves arranged on a chrome-plated or steel frame, and a polished chrome suspension.

The PH Artichoke's geometry is built around 72 metal leaves arranged in 12 rows of 6 leaves each, a configuration that ensures 100% glare-free light diffusion from any viewing angle, distributing illumination both inward and outward. This makes it an ideal choice for spaces such as the living room or prestigious environments where a visually striking fixture is required, one that seamlessly combines beauty and lighting quality. The Ø480 mm version, with a total height of 445 mm, is the most compact in the collection and suits mid-sized residential spaces with equal elegance.

The lamp is available in several finishes — copper, white, black, stainless steel and brass — and in multiple light source configurations. The 41W DTW LED version features a dim to warm system that shifts colour temperature from 3000K to 1800K, replicating the warm progression of an incandescent source when dimmed; it is available in both phase dimming and DALI variants. A 41W LED 3000K DALI version with fixed colour temperature is also offered, suited to professional control system installations. For maximum flexibility, an E27/26 100W version is available as well (bulb not included). The LED DTW Bluetooth Wireless version is available on request at an additional cost. The power cable is 3 × 0.75 mm² with a length of 4 metres, and the ceiling rose is included. Compatible with 100-240 V input voltage (EU, AUS, USA, UK, JAP), the lamp meets insulation class I requirements with an IP20 protection rating.
