Louis Poulsen PH Artichoke Glass

Louis Poulsen PH Artichoke Glass is an iconic pendant lamp designed by Poul Henningsen in 1958 for the Langelinie Pavilion in Copenhagen, crafted entirely by hand from sandblasted transparent glass. Its origins date back to 1927-31, when Henningsen used the same materials to create the PH Septima — a design legacy that has made this one of the most celebrated lighting objects in the world. Whether switched on or off, the lamp exudes an unmistakable ice look, bringing elegance and luminosity to any interior.

The PH Artichoke Glass finds its ideal setting in refined spaces such as the living room, where the quality of light and the lamp's sculptural presence can truly shine. 72 glass blades are arranged in 12 precise rows of 6 blades each, ensuring flawless, 100% glare-free light diffusion. Light is spread across the sandblasted lower surfaces and decoratively reflected on the upper ones, producing a unique and enveloping luminous effect. The upper shade, frame and suspension are in drawn aluminium, available in polished chrome or white finish, complementing the sandblasted transparent glass leaves.

The lamp is available in four standard diameters: Ø480 mm, Ø600 mm, Ø720 mm and Ø840 mm, with total heights ranging from 445 to 720 mm. The Ø480 model is compatible with an E27/26 light source (bulb not included). The Ø600, Ø720 and Ø840 models are also available in LED versions, with colour temperatures of 2700K or 3000K and DALI or Bluetooth Wireless control: the Ø600 model delivers 59W, while the Ø720 and Ø840 models reach 96W. All LED versions integrate the driver into the ceiling rose, which is included in the package. The cable is 4 m long: 3×0.75 mm² for the E27 version and 2×1 mm² for the LED version. The lamp is compatible with EU, AUD, USA, UK and JAP voltages (100-240 V), with an IP20 protection rating and insulation class I.
