Louis Poulsen PH 5-4½ White Suspension Lamp

Louis Poulsen PH 5-4½ is an iconic suspension lamp designed according to the celebrated four-screen system developed by Louis Poulsen in 1931, originally created in 1984 for the Århus Musikhus concert hall. The screens and anti-glare disc are crafted in drawn aluminium with a white painted matte finish, while the arms are made of coloured curved aluminium. The lamp was conceived to offer an architecturally refined suspended lighting solution, serving as an elegant alternative to traditional chandeliers.

The PH 5-4½ is designed for residential and representative interiors where visual comfort and light quality are essential. The funnel shape of the upper screen diffuses light over the surrounding area, while the three lower screens direct the flux primarily downwards, effectively illuminating the surface or zone below. The base reflector and the blue aluminium ring protect against glare from every viewing angle, ensuring extremely comfortable light even in spaces where long periods of time are spent. With its generous diameter of 466 mm and height of 318 mm, this suspension lamp suits the living room or kitchen with sophistication, enhancing dining tables, kitchen islands and lounge areas.

From a technical standpoint, the PH 5-4½ is compatible with LED or halogen light sources up to 70 W, with an E26-E27 lampholder (bulb not included). The universal input voltage of 100-240 V makes it suitable for worldwide use, with certified compatibility for EU, USA, UK, Australia and Japan. The power cord measures 3000 mm in length and the canopy is included. The degree of protection is IP20 and the insulation class is Class I.
