Louis Poulsen OE Quasi Light LED Suspension Chandelier

Louis Poulsen OE Quasi Light is a LED suspension chandelier born from the collaboration between the renowned Danish brand Louis Poulsen and Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson. Its formal architecture is composed of two contrasting yet interlinked geometric shapes: the outer layer is a rigid clear lacquered, pickled aluminium frame in the shape of an icosahedron with 20 triangular faces, while inside it seemingly floats a matt white polycarbonate reflector shaped as a dodecahedron with 12 pentagonal faces. The result is a luminous sculpture of extraordinary visual complexity, measuring 805 mm in diameter and 896 mm in length.

Twelve integrated LED light sources embedded in the inner vertices of the aluminium frame channel light through guides along the inner edges, directing it towards the central reflector. This layered white reflector emits a spherical, uniform and glare-free light that gently envelops every corner of the space. With a power output of 118W, the OE Quasi Light features an LED driver built into the canopy and is fully dimmable, with universal voltage compatibility from 100 to 240 V (EU, USA, UK, AUS, JAP) and an IP20 protection rating. The white fabric cord measures 4 metres in length, providing installation flexibility even in rooms with very high ceilings. The complex geometric shape of the OE Quasi is perceived differently depending on the observer's position, offering an endless range of perspectives and visual interpretations — making it both a work of art and a functional lighting tool, perfectly suited for the living room, reception areas, entrance halls or architecturally significant spaces.

Sustainability is a core value of Eliasson's work and is fully reflected in this project: the aluminium used is 90% recycled and all other materials are entirely recyclable. The modular design has been conceived for longevity, allowing every individual part to be replaced and recycled. The OE Quasi Light is more than a lamp: it is an aesthetic and philosophical statement that unites Louis Poulsen's lighting philosophy — that the quality of light is essential to human well-being — with Eliasson's artistic and scientific vision of geometry, perception and sustainability.
