Lodes Tidal oval ceiling lamp

Lodes Tidal is an oval ceiling lamp designed by Needs Studio for LODES, inspired by the motion of the tide and celestial bodies. The fluid, asymmetrical ring shape — wider on one side than the other — creates a shifting visual effect: the lamp appears different depending on the viewer's position, conveying a sense of dynamism and lightness. The body is crafted in die-cast aluminium and discreetly conceals all technical components inside, enhancing the formal purity of the design. Tidal is available in three diameters — Ø45 cm, Ø60 cm and Ø75 cm — and four matt finishes: black, white, earth and champagne. White and black suit minimalist interiors, while the earth and champagne tones bring warmth and elegance to more decorative settings.

The bi-directional light emission is one of Tidal's most distinctive features: two LED modules simultaneously project 75% of the light downward and 25% upward, generating an enveloping glow that illuminates an entire room while also enhancing the ceiling. The light source consists of high-powered COB LEDs, ensuring homogeneous illumination free from the speckled effect, with a CRI90 colour rendering index for accurate and natural colour reproduction. Tidal is available in two colour temperatures: 2700K, for a warm and intimate light, and 3000K, for a brighter, more neutral tone. The LED is integrated and the driver is included; the lamp is MacAdam 3-Step dimmable, with an input voltage of 220–240 V and energy efficiency class B. Thanks to its aesthetic versatility and high luminous output, Tidal is ideal for the living room and any representative space where lighting design plays a central role.

The Ø45 cm version delivers 30W, with a luminous flux of 5040 lm at 2700K and 5292 lm at 3000K, internal diameter Ø31.79 cm. The Ø60 cm version features a 38W module, with a luminous flux of 6840 lm at 2700K and 6860 lm at 3000K, internal diameter Ø44.7 cm. The Ø75 cm version, the most powerful in the range, is equipped with a 55W LED delivering 8589 lm at 2700K and 9072 lm at 3000K, internal diameter Ø59.78 cm.
