Lodes MAP Connection Point for modular system

MAP Connection Point is the non-luminous starting module of the MAP modular system by LODES, designed in collaboration with Berlin-based studio Geckeler Michels. Conceived for ceiling or wall installations in indoor environments, this component acts as a blind point without a light source, enabling the composition to begin from a neutral, visually discreet position — ideal when the power supply origin should remain hidden or when starting from a wall-mounted point. The TRIAC dimmable driver is integrated into the module, with an input voltage of 220-240 V and an output voltage of 24 V, insulation class I and protection rating IP20. Available in matte black, matte champagne and dark brown finishes, the Connection Point measures Ø13 cm in diameter and 7 cm in height.

The MAP system redefines the boundaries of modular lighting solutions through a fabric tape with integrated conductors, stretched between the various modules to power the entire system while always concealing the origin of the power supply. The Connection Point serves as the starting node from which up to 4 Additional Points can branch out, for a total of 5 elements in the composition. It is particularly effective for resolving design challenges such as low ceilings or the absence of ceiling light points. The MAP Tape has a maximum length of 8 metres; for compositions with a distance of more than two metres between one light point and another, the Ceiling Bracket accessory is available, while the Corner Bracket allows corners to be created for ceiling-to-wall compositions. Ideal for the living room, the office and contract environments, MAP is a tailor-made solution that defines and enhances any space with complete compositional freedom.

How to compose the MAP system. The system is structured around three module types. The Starting Point is the luminous starting module, available in TRIAC protocol — allowing up to 4 Additional Points to be connected — or DALI with a remote driver, which supports up to 7 Additional Points. The Connection Point is the non-luminous starting module featured here, allowing up to 4 Additional Points to be connected. Additional Points are the luminous modules that can be freely installed along the tape, available with Medium (26°), Wide (55°), Lens (80°) or indirect light optics, and functioning only when connected to a Starting Point or a Connection Point.
