Kartell Upper is the folding ladder designed by Alberto Meda and Paolo Rizzato in 2000, a design object that combines practicality with a strong aesthetic identity. Its load-bearing chrome-plated steel structure is welded to a body in polycarbonate — available transparent or solid-coloured — creating an elegant and contemporary result that transforms a functional accessory into a refined design piece. The steps feature a non-slip surface for safe everyday use.

Upper adapts effortlessly to a variety of home settings, from the kitchen to the living room, wherever a practical step is needed without compromising on style. When folded, it measures just 46 x 17 x 78 cm and weighs only 4.5 kg, making it easy to store in tight spaces. Open, it provides a stable and secure platform at 46 x 60 x 58 cm.
