Kartell Teatime tray

Teatime is Philippe Starck's new tray inspired by precious embroidery capable of recalling the past, but becoming a familiar and discreet design object, like the ability to bring the family together for tea time. Teatime plays with recalling crochet fretwork applied to the new high-tech sustainable material.

Teatime is made of recycled* and metallized PMMA. It is suitable for use in any environment but is not dishwasher safe.

*Kartell is using recycled PMMA on transparent productions for the first time. Teatime is the first product made from this material, which is largely derived from the depolymerization of plastic waste from various sources. This material maintains aesthetic quality and structural requirements comparable to virgin material. This project makes it possible to breathe new life into industrial plastic waste that becomes new products that last to become design icons.
