Kartell Polvara bookcase

Kartell Polvara is a modular bookcase designed by Giulio Polvara for Kartell in 1975, a landmark of Italian design that combines functionality, modularity and contemporary style. Made entirely of ABS, it consists of 55×35.5 cm modules assembled by push-fit interlocking, with no screws or tools required, ensuring quick and effortless setup. Its modular structure allows for free-form configurations — tower, shelving unit, partition wall and many more — adapting naturally to any residential or contract setting.

Equally at home in the living room and the office, Polvara can be expanded, reduced or rearranged over time to meet evolving space and storage needs. Coloured cubes — available separately as accessories — can be integrated to personalise the composition further. The bookcase is offered in three configurations: Version A measures 119×119 cm with a depth of 35.5 cm and weighs 21.3 kg; Version B measures 80.5×196 cm with a depth of 35.5 cm and weighs 25.26 kg; Version C measures 196×196 cm with a depth of 35.5 cm and weighs 35.46 kg.
