IGuzzini Drop by Drop led Suspension Lamp with Diffused Light

iGuzzini Drop by Drop is a LED suspension lamp designed by Alfonso Femia for iGuzzini, winner of the German Design Award 2020 in the Excellent Product Design-Lighting category. Its concept originates from the idea of a light object that seeks a constant balance between line and surface, evoking the ephemeral shape of a falling water drop. The body and end caps are made of polycarbonate, with an internal structure in aluminum and sheet steel, featuring a diameter of 300 mm and a 2000 mm adjustable steel suspension cable. The integrated LED source delivers an average lifespan of 50,000 hours, with a color temperature of 3000K (warm light) and a color rendering index of CRI85.

Drop by Drop is designed to enhance refined residential settings such as the living room or high-end contract spaces where design and lighting performance converge. The lamp is available in two distinct versions: the Chrome version, rated at 33W with a luminous flux of 2730 lm and a beam angle of 54°, delivers concentrated accent lighting through the OptiBeam reflector; the Opal White version, rated at 28W with a flux of 2050 lm and GL optic, provides general diffused light. Both versions are dimmable via DALI MacAdam 3-Step protocol for precise visual comfort control, operate at 220–240V with IP20 protection rating, and include an integrated driver. Installation is carried out using a steel plate with a cover base; wall plugs are not included.
