Pietre by Gufram, designed by the designer duo Saša Štucin and Nicholas Gardner of Soft Baroque, is an ironic and poetic tribute to the evocative power of nature and the tradition of radical Italian design. This extraordinary coffee table, which can also be used as a seat, takes shape from a unique inspiration: an ancient ruined Bourbon arch, spotted along the coast of the Naples Riviera. The weather and time had transformed the solid structure into a pile of rounded, almost cartoonish stones that fired the designers' imagination. The result is a domestic sculpture made of polyurethane - an iconic material for Gufram - in which “soft” blocks mimic the appearance of large, polished stones, seemingly set on top of each other in balance. The visual language is monumental and caricatured at the same time, in perfect continuity with historical pieces of the brand such as Sassi and Massolo by Piero Gilardi. Pietre is proposed in a refined basalt grey shade, a perfect balance between visual impact and aesthetic versatility. An object that challenges functional conventions and redefines the boundaries between art and furniture, true to Gufram's non-conformist spirit.
