Gufram God Cactus coat hanger Limited Edition

CONCEPT - The Cactus coat hanger is an icon of Gufram's Multipli collection, which has become a myth in the history of design and has fully entered the collections of the most important museums and cultural institutions around the world. However, icons are sometimes elevated to myths, so the icon itself must be destroyed to destroy the false idol.

TOILETPAPER, the editorial project of Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari, has dedicated several years to intense anthropological studies on the rituals of the tribes that venerate the Great Cactus, and has recognized the blasphemous absurdity of this useless devotion to the most fake inanimate vegetable in the world. Drocco and Mello, the first creators of Cactus in 1972, to put an end to this venerated idol, agreed with Maurizio and Pierpaolo to include eggs, an animal element considered unpopular by the tribes, not taking into account that eggs are a symbol of fertility and regeneration.

From this error, a new God is born: GOD!

Toiletpaper dedicates its cover to GOD. Furthermore, a 6m inflatable version floated in the canals of Venice in 2015, inaugurating the Biennale.
