Foscarini Hoba ceiling and wall lamp

Foscarini Hoba is a ceiling and wall lamp designed by Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba for Foscarini, inspired by the meteorite of the same name discovered in Namibia in 1920. Its asymmetrical and irregular silhouette, deliberately imperfect, is achieved through mouth-blown opal glass formed without rotating in an open mould, then treated with a careful acid-etching process that gives the diffuser a soft, enveloping surface. Each piece differs slightly from the next, making every lamp unique despite belonging to a series production. The structure combines acid-etched blown glass and ABS, with a transparent cable and white finish.

Hoba integrates effortlessly into the living room, the bedroom, and any residential setting that calls for warm, diffused light with an artisanal character. Available in four sizes, the Small version features a G9 socket with a maximum power of 8W and IP40 protection; the Midi, Medium and Large versions include an LED retrofit source and deliver a colour temperature of 2700K with a CRI above 80 for quality colour rendering. The Midi version outputs 806 lm via a 5.5W E14 socket, while Medium and Large reach 2452 lm with a 20W E27 socket. The Midi, Medium and Large variants are dimmable. The Small, Midi and Medium sizes can also be installed as wall lamps; the Large version is available for ceiling installation only. Universal voltage 100–240V.
