Fontana Arte Optunia medium led table lamp

Fontana Arte Optunia is a medium-sized LED table lamp designed in 2017 by the Swedish design trio Claesson Koivisto Rune for FontanaArte. Its painted metal structure in the refined Dark Bronze finish — an extremely dark quartz-like tone shifting from brown to black — holds two circular diffusers in acid-etched moulded glass, painted internally, whose silhouette recalls the shape of the Opuntia ficus-indica, the prickly pear cactus, from which the lamp takes its name. The light emission is both direct and indirect, made possible by two discs that can be independently oriented.

The most distinctive feature of Optunia lies in the extraordinary compositional freedom it offers: the lower disc rotates on one axis while the upper one rotates on a perpendicular axis, allowing approximately 360° of independent adjustment for each. This makes it possible to precisely modulate the light, alternating accent illumination and ambient diffusion within a single lamp. With its compact dimensions — Ø 18 × 54.5 cm — and remarkable versatility, Optunia is an ideal choice for a desk in the office or a design-oriented residential setting, as well as for a side table or work surface in the living room. The light source is an integrated 7.5 W LED with a colour temperature of 3000 K — warm white — and a CRI greater than 90, ensuring faithful and natural colour rendering. A luminous flux of 1065 lm delivers generous, high-quality illumination. The lamp is dimmable, comes with an integrated switch, and operates at a universal voltage of 100–240 V, with an interchangeable plug available in UK, USA and EU versions. The cable, dimmer and plug are finished in black, coordinated with the Dark Bronze tone. The IP20 rating confirms its suitability for indoor use only.
