Description

Flos The Micro Running Magnet recessed profile is an ultra-miniaturized lighting system by Flos Architectural, designed to integrate invisibly into plasterboard ceilings or walls. The structural profile, crafted in extruded aluminium in white or black, features a total height of just 17 mm and a width of 71 mm, powered at 24V DC with a maximum current carrying capacity of 5A. Available in lengths of 1, 1.5 and 2 metres, it represents the quintessence of light fully integrated into architecture, offering a degree of compositional flexibility that is hard to match.

Thanks to the magnetic fixing system built into the profile, compatible light modules — including Light Stripe Diffused, Light Stripe Wall-Washer, Nano Spot, Micro Spot and Spot — can be installed, oriented and reconfigured at any time without structural intervention. This feature makes the system ideal for exhibition spaces, contract environments and high-end residential settings such as the living room, where lighting precision and visual cleanliness are essential. The electrical circuit integrated into the profile is limited to a maximum load of 120W: each time this value is reached, a new connection must be initiated via an additional power profile. Installation is recommended on plasterboard surfaces with a thickness of 12.5 mm.

The system supports several control options, to be selected via a remote driver (not included): DALI and 1/10V enable broadcast dimming of all connected light units as a group; Casambi adds the option of individual and broadcast control via the dedicated Flos Control application, available for iOS and Android devices. PWM voltage regulators are compatible at a frequency between 250 and 500 Hz. In some installation configurations, the dimming system may produce a slight audible buzz.

The profile is complemented by a range of separately available accessories, including a 90° angle, internal corner, power connector, intermediate connector and closing terminal, allowing continuous and articulated lighting runs to be constructed. Lengths of 2500 mm and 3000 mm are also available on request. For custom project designs or system information, please contact Customer Service.
