Flos Real Matter is a recessed wall-mounted outdoor luminaire, designed by Piero Lissoni for Flos Outdoor. The body is crafted in AISI 316L stainless steel treated with a PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) process: once polished, the surfaces are coated with a thin film of metals such as zirconium and titanium that bond with the steel at a molecular level, enhancing both mechanical resistance and weatherproofing, and ensuring exceptionally durable, high-quality finishes. This version features the refined polished copper finish. The diffuser is made of UV-stabilised polycarbonate, with dimensions of 150 × 115 mm and a depth of just 15/3 mm.

Perfectly suited as an outdoor wall steplight for pathways, entrances and building facades, Real Matter integrates seamlessly into outdoor spaces, delivering LED light at 3 W with a colour rendering index of CRI80 and the option to select a colour temperature of either 2700K or 3000K. The IP65 protection rating ensures complete dust-tightness and resistance to water jets, while insulation class III and an input voltage of 24 V AC/DC — compatible with EU, AUD, USA, UK and JAP systems — make it a versatile choice for international projects. The luminaire is supplied with two outgoing power cables (L 2000 mm) and an IP-sealed connection kit; the 24V electronic driver is not included and can be installed remotely or housed behind the fixture in the formwork. Real Matter is available in three installation versions: in masonry or concrete with a recessed formwork box ordered separately as an accessory; in plasterboard walls using the included springs, suitable for surfaces between 5 mm and 20 mm thick; in masonry or concrete without formwork, with the fixture bonded directly to the surface using an adhesive chosen by the installer according to the substrate material.
