Flos Oplight W1 wall lamp

The new Oplight W1 wall lamp by Jasper Morrison (2021) is a demonstration that it is possible to make a technologically advanced product that is environmentally friendly. Despite its minimal thickness, no glue was used to assemble the components: thus the various parts are separable from each other, replaceable, and recyclable. First of all, the body is made of die-cast aluminum, a lightweight but durable material, powder-coated (for less environmental impact). The 16W LED board inside Oplight is high-efficiency, in fact emitting a considerable amount of light but with low power consumption, with a life of about 50000 hours, and is fully replaceable because it is not glued to the heat sink. The diffuser, which is transparent with the function of a lens as well, is made of injection-molded polycarbonate and, thanks to its elasticity, is fixed with quick-release couplers (snap-fit) so that it can be disassembled and reassembled if necessary. Oplight is available in white or black finishes. It can be used in an apartment, in a house with high ceilings, or in the hallway of an office, as it contributes to the atmosphere without being too flashy or obtrusive.
