Flos In Vitro Rod 1 is a outdoor suspension lamp designed by Philippe Starck for Flos Outdoor, combining contemporary aesthetics with outstanding resistance to atmospheric agents. The body is crafted from die-cast and extruded aluminum, treated with a chemical conversion process to ensure long-lasting durability, and finished with powder coating available in 7 different colors. The lamp head integrates an opal diffuser for uniform diffused light, complemented by a transparent borosilicate glass protective cover that preserves both optical and formal integrity.

Designed for rod installation with a length of 290 mm, In Vitro Rod 1 is ideal for porticos, terraces, external galleries, and any outdoor space requiring high-quality lighting with architectural character. The included 13 W LED light source and on/off power supply are integrated within the ceiling canopy, which is also supplied. The fixture is compatible with 220–240 V input voltage and international standards EU, AUD, USA, UK, and JAP. The IP66 protection rating ensures complete resistance to dust and water, making In Vitro Rod 1 suitable even for the most exposed environments. A 111° beam angle provides a wide and enveloping light distribution, with a CRI80 color rendering index and available color temperatures of 2700K (1378 lm) or 3000K (1474 lm). The lamp body measures 425 mm in height and Ø175 mm in diameter; the rod is Ø25 mm in diameter and 290 mm in height; the canopy measures Ø150×34 mm.
