Flos Gobi 180 Mono is a ground recessed spotlight by Flos Outdoor, engineered for high-end outdoor lighting applications. The parallel position of the light source relative to the surface maximises the direct component of the light emission, delivering an asymmetrical, direct beam that is especially effective for illuminating paths, driveways and exterior surfaces. The body is crafted from die-cast EN AB-47100 aluminium with a low copper content, finished with a double layer of highly corrosion-resistant paint, while the transparent borosilicate glass ensures lasting optical clarity.

Designed for refined outdoor settings, the Gobi 180 Mono is both walkable and drive-over rated up to 2,000 kg, making it suitable not only for private gardens and terraces but also for public spaces and vehicular transit areas. The IP67 rating ensures full waterproofness even in adverse weather conditions. The integrated 3.4 W LED light source, powered at 24 V DC, delivers a luminous flux of 250 lm at a colour temperature of 3000 K (warm white) and a CRI 80 colour rendering index for natural, comfortable light. The standard version is not dimmable, but a dimmable version is available on request, along with 2700 K and 4000 K colour temperature options, which can be specified when placing the order. The luminaire features a watertight M12 screw connector with a 400 mm cable tail for connection to the remote power supply, which is not included. Installation requires a recessed formwork box, also to be ordered separately; adequate drainage material or a drainage system must be provided beneath the formwork to prevent water stagnation, and flexible electrical cables suitable for outdoor use must be employed to ensure cable gland integrity. The Gobi 180 is available in six finishes — White, Grey, Forest Green, Deep Brown, Black and Anthracite — to complement any architectural context. The compact dimensions of Ø 180 × 30 mm allow for a discreet installation that integrates seamlessly with the surrounding paving. It is worth noting that the Gobi 180 is the updated successor to the renowned Ares - VEGA steplights, carrying forward their technical legacy with significant constructional and performance improvements.
