Flos Almendra S3 Y Short suspension lamp

Regenerated and regenerating, the Almendra suspension lighting system designed by Patricia Urquiola for Flos, manages to combine two fundamental aspects of the contemporary project in equal measure: the sensual atmosphere of the light beam and the minimization of environmental impact. Inspired by an almond tree, it is composed of diffuser-fins that diffuse a gentle and soft light thanks to the Edge Lighting Technology optical guide system, capable of creating lighting comfort combined with functionality and efficiency. A quality that is perfected with the possibility of positioning the illuminating "petals" downwards or upwards and thus obtaining different types of light from the same system.

Almendra also embodies Flos' constant effort towards sustainable production. The petals are made of eco-sustainable polycarbonate deriving from a by-product of paper production, while the rest of the structure is made of extruded aluminum 100% recyclable without the use of glues but only screws, all invisible. Thanks to this novelty, each part of Almendra can be disassembled and recycled correctly depending on the material it is made of.

CONCEPT - Suspension lamp providing diffused light, with tubular aluminum structure and CNC aluminum terminals. Integrated Edge Lighting Technology. The petals can be rotated in steps of 60° to change the direction of the emitted light. Metal ceiling rose with matt white finish. The electronics integrated in the canopy allows the us of different intensity regulation systems: 1-10V, DALI, pushbutton or potentiometer. 3 meter long cable included (adjustable).

Versions with the Primer ceiling rose are available upon request. The Primer version can be painted at the end of installation with normal water-based finishes (tempera, putty, water-based paint) to ensure any finish and for perfect integration into the environment. I observed the almond trees in Ibiza, and starting from green we chose the colors of an Almendro, from the white of its flowers to the ocher of all the twigs and fruit, and the nude that refers to the color of the branch" - P.
