Layered, modular, imposing. Metra is a suspended architecture that translates the verticality of the city into a luminous object with a strong and distinctive character. Three geometric volumes overlap in an ascending rhythm, evoking the dizzying vertical landscape of large urban contexts, the rigor of fortified towers, the monumental order of the “Metropolis” imagined by Fritz Lang. Its hidden complexity arises from a manufacturing boldness: each ceramic element is in fact printed separately, with articulated molds in which each face is in turn an element in itself, to allow for polychrome finishes with glazes of different shades. This modularity is not only aesthetic, but functional: each individual volume can exist alone, transforming into a small linear suspension, allowing for customized lighting configurations. The grooved surfaces and ceramic finishes finally enhance the play of shadows and reflections, while the light is concentrated downwards with sculptural precision. Metra is not just a lamp, but an architectural system of light, a modular construction that dialogues with space and adapts to it.
